James M. Lawson, Jr: Revolutionary Nonviolence: Organizing for Freedom – Book Review

In this book, Lawson argues for the efficiency of nonviolent direct actions within the current global social crises context (2024, xii). Relying on a variety of case studies rooted in the antiracist US civil rights, as well as a variety of nonviolent postcolonial and anti-capitalist movements around the world (e.g. in Poland or South Africa), the book aims at providing enough evidence and practical information on why and how to effectively start and achieve the aims of a nonviolent resistance movement against the current 'plantation capitalist' system (7-8).
