Excerpt: As Secretary-General of the International Peace Research Association (IPRA), which Johan helped to found in 1964, I was pleased to lead a brief discussion at the Asia-Pacific Peace Research Association conference held shortly after Galtung’s passing, in tribute to him and his legacy. Academic leaders from Sri Lanka, Argentina, China, and the US all spoke of the profound impact he had on us, both personally and professionally.
