For libraries and institutions
Institutional subscriptions
One subscription covers your whole institution: unlimited users, every issue and article we have published, and unlimited PDF downloads. Access is authenticated by IP, so it works through your proxy.
An independent journal
The first academic journal dedicated to resistance studies, published independently of any commercial house. Subscriptions are what keep it that way.
Deliberately affordable
We keep fees low so that critical research reaches scholars and activists alike. Where the standard rate is a barrier, we adjust it.
Institutional rates
Per year, in US dollars.

One year from the date of payment. The term is stated on every invoice.

Bank transfer against our invoice, or card online, processed by Stripe.
Subscription agents
We invoice against a purchase order and work with Prenax and Erasmus. Agency rates on request.
Ask your library to subscribe
If you are at a university or library, send them a request on your behalf. We pass it on with everything their acquisitions team needs, so that not only you but everyone at your institution can read the journal.
A recommendation from a researcher carries more weight with a library than an approach from a publisher.
A price that works where you are
We would rather have you as a subscriber at a price you can afford than not have you at all. We adjust our rates for low-income institutions, and in some circumstances we provide access free of charge.
We are especially interested in working with institutions outside Europe and North America, and in learning what would make the journal genuinely available where you are. Tell us your situation.
Add us to your catalogue, subscription or not
Loading our metadata into your systems means your researchers and students find our articles in your own library search, alongside everything else they look for.
Worth doing even without a subscription: our older articles are open access, and the full run of the Resistance Studies Magazine, 2008 to 2013, is free to read.
KBART title list
The full NISO Phase II title list for knowledge bases, covering the journal and the magazine. Generated live, so it stays current.
MARC records
MARCXML, or binary ISO 2709, with one analytic record per article and serial-level records for both titles.
OAI-PMH feed
Harvest our metadata directly. Updated as each new issue publishes, with sets by article type.
ISSN 2003-3265 (online) · ISSN 2001-9947 (print) · DOIs registered with Crossref, prefix 10.63961 · Google Scholar citation tags on every article page
Terms, in brief
What a subscription covers
Unlimited access for unlimited users to all issues and articles, with unlimited PDF downloads. Access covers the full back catalogue as well as everything published during the term. Print subscriptions receive each new issue published during the period, and earlier printed issues can be supplied for a small fee covering printing and shipping.
Access and authentication
Access is authenticated by IP and works with EZproxy; OpenAthens is supported through the same system. Send us the outbound IP ranges of your proxy, together with any campus ranges you would like registered. We also need one email address to create the digital account, and an institutional or shared library address works better than a personal one.
Renewal and cancellation
A subscription runs for one year and does not continue beyond that term unless it is renewed. Institutional subscriptions are invoiced annually, whether directly or through an agent; an institution that does not wish to renew should tell us, or tell its agent. There is no cancellation fee and no notice period, and cancelling does not cut access short: a cancelled subscription runs to the last day of the term already paid for.
Refunds
A subscription is refunded in full if it is cancelled within 15 days of payment, with no reason needed. Refunds are made by the route the payment came in; where an agent placed the order, we refund the agent. Printed issues that have already shipped are not refundable, and we refund the balance instead. After 15 days a subscription is not refundable in whole or in part.
Support and missing issues
Customer support is included in every subscription at no extra cost, for the whole of the term. Write to [email protected] about access and authentication, invoicing and renewal dates, or missing, late or damaged printed issues. If a printed issue does not arrive, or arrives damaged, we send a replacement free of charge including postage.
Our full Terms of Use will be linked here once the policy pages are published. In the meantime, write to [email protected] for the complete terms.
