While reviewing the submissions for this special issue, I noticed that none of them ventured predictions about the future of Resistance Studies. This is likely due to the discipline's emphasis on explaining and understanding past events rather than forecasting trends. However, one of the privileges of writing an editorial is the opportunity to speculate about the future of the field, particularly in relation to methodological developments.
