Conference Fees
Our Conference Fees Structure seeks to balance the need to make the conference affordable, particularly for low income students, activist, and researchers from around the world, and partially recover some of the costs such as facilities and infrastructure hiring. Given the nature of this event, please note that the majority of participants are from low income backgrounds, such as researchers, activists and students from all around the world. Those who can afford to contribute can help us sustain the costs and make this conference possible. There will also be the option to give more, so you can help subsiding costs for lower income participants.
We have 3 tiers of pricing:
- Full fee: For participants with institutional support or stable, higher incomes. This includes full-time academics, professionals, or anyone whose registration is covered by an employer, university, or grant.
- Reduced fee: For participants with limited access to funding or unstable income. This includes precariously employed academics, independent researchers, NGO workers, activists, and community organisers who have some income but no institutional support.
- Student/ unwaged: For participants with limited financial means. This includes students, unwaged or underemployed participants, and participants for whom cost would otherwise be a barrier to participation.
Check out fees for online vs in person participants, and check what applies to you.

Meals
The table above shows the pricing for the meals organised for conference attendees, such as lunches and the dinner evening. However, participants may choose not to add meals to their registration, and pay only the base fee.
For the lunches, you will receive a meals card and you will be able to eat at the dining halls on campus, where you have access to a wide variety of cuisines, and fresh food that you can customise.
We recommend participants to attend the dinner, as an occasion to connect and network, which is one of the aims of this event. You can find out more here.
Accomodation: On-Campus Residence Halls
Accomodation is NOT included in the fees.
We have reserved some residence hall rooms for our guests on campus, for $180* per person, per room for 3 nights. Single nights are not available. Please find out information and book here.
Note that although the booking system is different, you need to let us know in the conference registration form whether you plan to use this option, so that we can confirm with Umass that you are a registered participant.
Otherwise, you can arrange your own accomodation. Check out below a range of options at Amherst.
