This panel explores how democracy can be secured beyond authoritarian removal. Drawing on case studies from the DRC, Uganda, Guinea, and Afghanistan, it examines coups, civil wars, and regime change, highlighting the need for institutional reform, accountability, and civic leadership. Participants will learn strategies to translate protest energy into durable governance, strengthen resilient institutions, and sustain democratic consolidation despite systemic repression and external pressures.
