Communities worldwide face extractive projects that drive conflict, displacement, and authoritarian exploitation. This panel explores nonviolent strategies to resist resource-driven oppression, highlighting Sudan, El Salvador, Zimbabwe, and other regions. Participants will learn how grassroots organizing, cultural leadership, youth engagement, documentation, and advocacy campaigns can protect land, water, and local rights, while generating international attention. By connecting local action to global accountability mechanisms, the panel demonstrates how communities can transform natural resource wealth from a source of conflict into a tool for justice, inclusion, and sustainable development.
